Psychosexual Session Information

All sessions are carried out online via Zoom

Sessions will either be single session weekly appointments, lasting approximately 50 minutes or fortnightly, with sessions generally being 1.5 hours and will be typically be on the same day and time, suitable to you and within our hours of operation. It is expected that the session will begin at the agreed time. Any session that begins after this time due to late client arrival for whatever reason cannot be extended beyond the agreed finish time. If you do not arrive or call within 20 minutes of the agreed appointment, this will be considered a cancellation and we will not be available for the remainder of the session.

We usually suggest that you agree initially for 4 sessions and then we can discuss whether you would like to continue. For most people, 6 to 8 sessions is the minimum needed to achieve positive change, but every client is different and this is something we will review regularly together.

EMDR Session Information

A typical EMDR therapy session lasts from 60-90 minutes. It could take several sessions to process one traumatic experience, but EMDR tends to be either a stand alone therapy or as part of a Psychosexual program, so the amount of time it will take to complete EMDR treatment for traumatic experiences will depend upon the client's history. This will be discussed with you during the initial history take.
